I’m glad It does not breathe: Sachin
...said Sachin Tendulkar after looking at his Madam Tussauds’ wax statue which was unveiled yesterday.
By his own admission, the surge of emotions that Sachin Tendulkar experienced when he first encountered his wax replica, which will be inaugurated on his 36th birthday (April 24), was unique. ���When my family and I saw it, something identical to myself, my reaction was something different.
It was so real, it was fantastic. My son (Arjun) wanted to take down the bat and start playing but I told him not to get very close,��� said Sachin.
He raved at the meticulous detailing that had gone into its making. ���I���m glad it does not breathe,��� he said.
Madame Tussauds flew the cricketer���s wax figure some 7,000 km to ���meet��� Sachin in person, and made him the first Indian sportsman to be featured by the London-headquartered studio.

The choice of posture was Sachin���s. ���This was the way I celebrated when I surpassed the record,��� he mentioned, referring to him eclipsing Brian Lara���s world record of highest runs in Tests. ���I know I am the first sportsperson of the country to be there. I think it is an appreciation and a reflection of my contribution to Indian cricket. They come to those who have achieved something in life, and I think my contribution to Indian cricket has been good.���
